Phase 2.
The most important thing to remember during Phase 2 is to watch your distance from the boss when "CUTTER" is called over vent.
Those of you who are dying during Phase 2 are too close to the boss when the "CUTTERS" are spawned. It's basic geometry. The further you stand from the boss, the less precise you have to be about your distance between the two balls ahead and behind you. Play it safe. There is nothing about this phase that requires balls out DPS. It's all about smart play.
Be calm, just simply shift your position further away from the boss and you will avoid the cutter just fine.
Tip for Healers: Healer/cleansers need to hold off cleansing off Mark of Consumption as long as possible. The farther out the marked target is from the center of the circle, the less chance that the raid gets sucked into the AoE.
Tip for Mark of Consumption Targets: Look at the right side of the diagram below. When you are marked with consumption, what you want to do is to NOT run at a 90 degree angle. You want to run with the balls and head them off. Mark of Consumption will put a snare on you when it is cleansed, what you want to do is be as close as possible to the shadow ball in front you, while not touching it. This way even if there is no BOF available, and if you are snared, you have plenty of time to get back into the fold before the shadow ball in front of you (and hence the cutter line behind you) catches up and cuts you up.
Phase 3.
The absolute worst mistake that the fire realm group can make during phase 3 is how they place their Marks of Combustion.
AoEs are cross realm. Which means, if you spawn a shadow AoE down in the shadow realm, it will appear in the top/fire realm, and vice versa.
The shadow realm is difficult enough, but the people in the fire realm can complicate matters even worse when they spawn Marks of Combustion adjacent to one another. Look at the diagram below.
When two Marks of Combustion are spawned adjacent to one another, it delays dispells on the Marks Consumption down below until the Cutters down below have passed by the region with 2 Mark of Combustion AoEs.
This not only makes the Shadow/Mark of Consumption AoE much larger, but also puts extra stress on the healers in the shadow realm. Never ever ever do this.
If you are in the fire realm, place your Mark of Combustion 180 degrees on the other side of the map. Everyone on the fire realm, remember, once a Mark of Combustion goes out, switch to the other side of Halion!
