New Sindragosa Diagrams

Ok, so it turns out my last set of diagrams were not clear enough, there's still some confusion where people need to position themselves.  Here is a whole new set of diagrams that should make things more lucid.

Phase 1.
The raid seems to get the point here.  If you have Unstable Magic, run out of raid and do what little you can without stacking your Instability beyond 3.  Watch that Blistering Cold timer!  If you are pro you will let that Instability stack reset to 0 before you get pulled in for Blistering Cold..  The general rule here is to do as little as possible, never let your Instability get beyond 3.  Don't be a hero, don't try to do anything more than you need to, that's how things go into the toiliet.

Phase 2a - Start of Air Phase.
We're still having problems with this and it's the thing that is frustrating the raid most.  There always seems to be 1 or 2 people who run to the top of the stairs at the start of the air phase.  You are doing it wrong!  It is absolutely important that you be at the base of the stairs when this happens, for 2 important reasons.

Reason 1: When people see an ice block candidate at the middle of the stairs they panic and they run away from that person, in doing so they get themselves even more out of position to get behind an ice block than they would usually be - if they panic and run too far away from their spots, they won't get behind an ice block before the first frost bomb and they will die.  I blame people who violate this rule just as much for the people who fail to pay attention to frost bombs for deaths during the air phase.

Reason 2: When you are at the middle of the stairs, or the top of the stairs at the beginning of the air phase and you get chosen as the ice block target - and thus late to get in position with your ice block, you are also screwing over the other ice block candidates.  2 Ice blocks are taken out of the equation by pushing in the center (Skull and X), that leaves 4 others to spread out evenly.  If either Skull or X are late because they ran to the top of the stairs during the start of the air phase, that means one of the other symbols need to push into that position to make enough space at the base of the stairs.  This is obviously bad because it requires second guessing and clutch play.  Don't add unnecessary complexity!

Phase 2b. Air phase
Some of you are still dying to the first frost bomb during the air phase, the reason that you are dying is because you're running too far up the stairs.  Stop overreacting.  The ice blocks have a 15 yard radius, you can easily eye ball how far you need to be from an ice block candidate.  As a general rule, run to the MIDDLE of the stairs if you are NOT an ice block candidate.  Once the ice blocks are placed, only then do you run to them and get LOS of the Frost Bombs.

If you are getting ice blocked along with the proper ice block candidates you are doing it wrong!  DPSing down 6 ice blocks in a coordinated manner is difficult enough, do not screw over the raid to deal with your f*ck up and try to coordinate 7 or 8.

Furthermore. those of you who are ice block candidates need to pay more attention to your other fellow ice block candidates.  Remember, the intention in this positioning is up to take 2 ice blocks out of the equation and for us to only deal with the placement of 4.  The 4 of you who are NOT skull or x need to space out more evenly.  There are a few attempts where we had large gaps between the 4 ice blocks, or, we had 1 flank ice block too far to the side.

Don't place your ice block too far in the corner, the wall will force people's camera angles into first person perspective if they are forced to hide behind an ice block too far into a corner.  While they may survive the first frost bomb they may not adjust their camera angle in time to see the following frost bomb placement.  Focus and have some foresight on where you drop your ice block!

Phase 2c.
First, make sure that your name plates are turned on.  It will allow you to see the hp percentage of every ice block.

Second, once the ice blocks are in position, it is very important that the DPS on the ice blocks are equal and intelligent.  I emphasize intelligent!  Some of you need to L2useEscapeKey and stop white hitting ice blocks that are below 30%.  If you want to use abilities like starfall or immolation aura do so at the start of the phase 2c, NOT at the tail end.  Adjust your DPS on the ice blocks accordingly.

Third, Stop Dying To Frost Bomb, there is a very obvious tempo to this phase.  The frost bombs drop every 10 seconds.  What this means is that your first priority is to look for the placement of the next frost bomb before DPSing.  Don't do anything else besides looking around for the next frost bomb placement.  Only after you determine where the next frost bomb will land do you do anything.  I see too many DPS tunneling on ice block dps rather than trying to avoid frost bombs.

This is a fight where DPS meters mean NOTHING.  This fight is all about survivability and this air phase is designed to whittle down the raid before they can even reach phase 3.  Blizzard accomplishes this by putting down a bunch of DPS targets for the DPS to tunnel while bombs are landing all around them.  Focus, stay calm, avoid the bombs.

Third, All Pets and Dots and Healer Dots need to be slapped on Skull and X ice blocks.  Healers, do not worry about healing during this phase, if someone takes damage, they will be instagibbed.  Focus on avoiding Frost Bombs and putting whatever dots you can on Skull and X ice blocks.

Phase 3 - Everyone clear your Mystic Buffet off the First Ice Block.
Everyone take the first ice block and clear your Mystic Buffet off the first ice block.  The first block doesn't spawn until fairly late into phase 3.  Failing to clear your stacks off this first block will get you killed during the first Blistering Cold (as healers aren't healing but running away from Sindragosa).

Everyone clear your stacks off of this first ice block.  The only exception to this rule are the Holy Paladins who will be standing in the neutral central positions and healing the tank.

Phase 3b  - After clearing your Mystic Buffet, get CENTERED.
Those of you who are lingering in the old ice block position after it gets beaten down, you are doing it wrong.  Once your Mystic Buffet stacks are cleared or the Ice Block goes down, you need to get centered ASAP.  This is to insure that the following following ice block candidate doesn't have to negotiate around you, and thus dropping their ice block in a position that is faaar faar faar away from the tanks.  Remember, if healers are separated from tanks, they can't heal tanks - and yet healers have to clear their Mystic Buffets.  Do not linger in the old ice block position after it goes down.  Recenter and go back to what you are doing.

Phase 3c - The right Ice Block.
We are changing things up for you melee.  Healing you guys through Mystic Buffet and Chilled to the Bone is unreasonable.  For all Melee DPS who are not Rogues (Rogues are permanently on ice blocks), you guys need to clear your Mystic Buffets every single block.

Holy Paladins, if you ever get Unstable Magic, stop whatever you're doing and deal with your Mystic Buffet asap.  Until then, just heal tanks and stand in the melee position.

Ranged DPS + Healers, you guys have to pick up the slack during this phase.  There is an enrage timer to meet, and you guys are ignoring the right Ice Block.  Heal and DPS your hearts out, however, pay attention to your Mystic Buffet, if by some bad luck (or your own incompetence) you failed to LOS off the Mystic Buffet during the previous Ice Block, you need to do it now.
